Steven Green - Co-Owner and Travel Advisor

I am Steven Green, co-owner of Mayfair Travel with my wife, Johanna. At Mayfair Travel, I manage our team of exceptional travel advisors, oversee industry partner relations, and develop and conduct training programs for our advisors. With over 20 years in the travel industry, I initially spent the first few years assisting Johanna. Before joining Mayfair Travel full-time, I worked as a special education teacher for 16 years. The success of our agency led me to leave my teaching career and fully commit to our growing business.

My credentials include being an ASTA Verified Travel Advisor and earning my Travel Agent Executive (TAE) designation from CLIA. I have also completed numerous industry training programs, including AmaWaterways' River Cruise Specialist and G Adventure's National Geographic Journeys Specialist.

Some of my favorite destinations include Poland, Ireland, Germany, the Alps, Israel, and Greece. While locations themselves don't always impress me, my first visit to Machu Picchu left me in awe, and I enjoyed supporting the local economy by purchasing handmade crafts. Sailing on a 38-person yacht in Croatia, swimming off the boat, and eating fresh oysters straight from the sea is another highlight of my life. Our annual Christmas Market trip, planned by Johanna, is always a special part of my year.

My love for history drives my desire to travel. I particularly enjoy wandering through the Old Town sections of cities and experiencing new foods—there’s hardly anything I won’t try, the weirder, the better! Greece and Poland are at the top of my "can't wait to see again" list, thanks to their incredible cuisine.

In addition to exploring cities without an itinerary, some of my favorite travel styles include river cruises and ocean cruising. I love sailing on European riverways, savoring a Rüdesheim Coffee, smoked fish, or enjoying a cigar while passing medieval castles and pastures. I also relish the experiences offered by big ocean liners.

While I primarily focus on training our talented travel advisors, I specialize in planning Fully Independent Travel (FIT) trips for clients. Although these trips can be more costly due to their unique nature, I find immense satisfaction in creating bespoke itineraries. I have also become a cruise expert. However, my greatest joy comes from working with our advisors as they serve their clients.

What I enjoy most about being a travel advisor is developing and fine-tuning itineraries. I take pride in offering unique solutions for my clients, often suggesting trips they may not have considered. By understanding their desires and expectations, I can craft travel experiences that perfectly match their needs.
